We could list 12 responsibilities, but good design isn’t a checklist. The role is for someone who sweats the details so users don’t have to. The designer will own end-to-end design work turning ambiguous problems into intuitive and delightful experiences for students and instructors on the EdTech platform.
Candidates with a strong portfolio showcasing clear case studies and thinking process are preferred. Bonus points if they are excited about designing with AI tools rather than just around them.
Instead of a long checklist, Newton School believes good design is about ownership and craft. The Product Designer will take product ideas from early-stage messy research through to final shipped experiences creating user flows, interfaces, and interactions that feel effortless for users. They will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams, maintain high design standards, and help shape meaningful learning experiences on the Newton School platform.
- 1–2 years of experience as a Product Designer or UI/UX Designer
- Strong portfolio with case studies that demonstrate end-to-end thinking (research → final design)
- Excellent command of Figma and modern design tools
- Ability to handle ambiguity and move from messy problems to shipped solutions
- Strong attention to detail and craft
- Bonus: Experience designing with AI tools (not just around them)
- Passion for education and EdTech space is a plus
