At Fam, Design plays a huge role in making money feel fun, social, and intuitive. As a Product Design Intern, you’ll work on real product problems, collaborate with PMs and engineers, and help shape experiences used by millions of GenZ users. If you obsess over apps, notice tiny UX details, save cool interfaces on Instagram/Pinterest, and love turning chaos into clean experiences - you’ll probably enjoy this role a lot. Responsibilities

Work closely with product designers, PMs, engineers, and researchers on live product problems.

  • Assist in designing user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for consumer-facing features.
  • Contribute to improving the overall user experience across Fam products.
  • Support user research, usability testing, and synthesis of insights.
  • Help maintain and scale Fam’s design system and component libraries.
  • Explore visual directions, interaction patterns, and new feature concepts.
  • Stay updated on design trends, GenZ behavior, internet culture, and emerging consumer apps.
  • Take ownership of smaller design problems end-to-end with mentorship from senior designers.
  • Collaborate in feedback sessions, critiques, and brainstorming discussions across teams.

Job requirements

Must-haves

  • Strong fundamentals in UX, interaction design, and visual design.
  • Proficiency in Figma and basic prototyping tools.
  • Strong interest in consumer-facing mobile products.
  • Ability to think from a user-first perspective and simplify experiences.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong curiosity, ownership mindset, and willingness to learn fast.
  • Portfolio showcasing product design projects, internships, or personal work.
  • Awareness of GenZ internet culture, trends, and digital products.
  • Must have an AI-native mindset and actively leverage AI in day-to-day workflows.

Good-to-haves

  • Previous internship/freelance experience in a startup or B2C product company.
  • Understanding of fintech, payments, or social consumer products.
  • Motion design, illustration, or visual storytelling skills.
  • Experience conducting user research or usability testing.
  • Personal side projects, portfolio website, Behance, or Dribbble presence.
  • Experience contributing to design systems or component libraries.
  • Experimenting with AI tools/workflows to speed up design exploration, research, content, or prototyping.
